Audiovisual Equipment & Presentation Review for Oral Presentations

AACN provides the following audiovisual equipment for your oral presentation:

1. LCD
2. Laser Pointer
3. Podium with microphone
4. Lavalier microphone
5. Audience microphones (stationary)

Speakers must provide their own laptop computer or arrange with a colleague to use their computer. Ideally, it is best if all presentations for the session be loaded onto one laptop as that expedites the process of changing speakers. However, that is something the three speakers will need to work out once on location or via email prior to NTI.

Please be sure to bring with you an electronic form of you presentation. Internet access will not be available during the presentation.

You may review your presentation prior to your session at the Speaker Headquarters located in McCormick Place West Room W-176ab. The days and times for the Speaker Headquarters are as follows:

Equipment and/or Additional Materials for Poster Presentations

Poster presentations are graphically illustrated, self-explanatory presentations of the findings from the research study or creative solution intervention. Authors illustrate their findings by displaying graphs, photographs, diagrams, & text on a 4 feet tall x 8 feet wide poster board with a 2 inch border. The bulletin board is covered with a light gray cloth that can accommodate Velcro attachments. Push pins may also be used. Mounting materials are not provided by AACN, you are responsible for bringing all materials necessary to mount your poster.

Projection equipment is not allowed in the poster session area, and electrical outlets are not provided. There will be skirted tables under the poster boards with approximately 12 inches of space where you can place copies of your abstract/poster or literature related to your study. Please be courteous to other presenters and do not bring laptops to run presentations on your poster table.

No product promotion or materials may be at the poster. If your project has resulted in a marketable product or used a marketed product, please be aware that it cannot be marketed during your presentation. Presentations may not have product information or promotion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is is acceptable to have an interactive DVD available for a fee so that interested persons can later purchase?

No product information or marketing materials may be at the poster presentation.

Do I need to arrange for someone to introduce my oral presentation?

AACN will be providing persons to introduce the oral presenters.

Can I ship my poster to the convention center ahead of time?

There are no staff available to accept personal shipments at the convention center. We suggest that you have it shipped to your hotel and then carry it to the convention center. Hotels are usually good with holding pre-shipped (FedEx or UPS) items as long as you note your name, arrival date and assigned room number on the package. We recommend using FedEx or UPS so that it can be traced - referencing on your package your arrival date, hotel room & complete name.

Will there be a table or surface to place handout materials at the poster board presentations?

Yes, each board will have available a 6' skirted table that will fit under the board. Each poster will have approximately 12 inches on which to place copies of the abstract/poster or literature related to the research/project.

How many copies of the poster handout should I bring for attendees at the Poster Sessions?

We recommend a couple of hundred. About 7,000 attendees visit the convention. AACN provides copies of the submitted poster abstract and these will be available to attendees.

I am presenting both a Poster and an Oral presentation at the NTI, am I eligible for $150 registration discount?

No, Presenters who have multiple abstracts accepted will be eligible for only one (1) reduction in NTI registration.

If a colleague is also presenting an abstract, can we request that they be presented together?

The size of the meeting and the number of presentations do not allow submitters to make special requests for abstract presentation.

Why is my email address listed at the bottom of the abstract?

Your e-mail address is provided so that interested colleagues may contact you after the conference with any questions regarding your abstract.
